The climate Subarctic is really cold in the winter and can be hot in the summer. It is only found on the Northern Hemisphere in Canada and the northern part of Asia between 70 degrees N and 50 degrees N. The Subarctic region only experiences summer and winter. The winter is much longer than summer. Summer lasts 1-3 months. The temperature in winter is -40 degrees Fahrenheit and can be 85 degrees in the summer. This region receives very little precipitation only 10 to 20 inches of rain. Most of the year it is covered in snow. Most of the trees die because of the cold but some that survive are Pine and Spruce trees and some ferns and shrubs.
